Rolfs Diary:
25 Feb 2009 [Open]
Today saw the return of a Sunday open which hopefully will be the start of the ton weights that Rolfslake is famous for.
When the lake fishes hard the one thing you know for sure is that Rolfslake’s Phil Powell is never far from the frame and today was no different.
Phil today was drawn on the car park bank peg 26 and used the pole fishing both corn and bread to catch fish to double figures in his final weight of 187-04 and only one fish off the first double ton of the year.
A long way off in second place was Steve Palmer who was two pegs down from Phil on peg 28 and who also fished the pole using corn hook bait but found bites hard to come by ,but still caught a few carp in his weight of 58-00.
Completing the frame was Paul Jay down on peg 24 and who fished the waggler using bread as bait and who also had a few carp for his final weight of 48-00.
John Bennett informs me that there will be Saturday Opens from now on so please give John a call if you fancy some winter bagging. Draw 9.30 Fish 10.30 – 3.30.
Please contact John if you fancy fishing the Easter Festival as these places go very quickly and last year’s festival was very exciting as there were 6 anglers in with a chance of winning right up to the last hour. The fishing was good and the company was great so talk to John for more details.
