After hearing the very sad news of the loss of one of Rolfslakes favourite anglers Robin Flowers, who lost his fight against cancer a few weeks ago ,the anglers would like to pass their condolences to Robins family in their time of need.
Robin had been a very likeable and very good angler with many match wins and a very rare 300lb pb and i know the anglers that knew Robin will miss him and his banter that was a feature down on the lake.

After the very inconsistent match weights of late it was great to see the lake come back to form in this weeks open.
In first place today it was Rolfslakes Golden Drawhand Mick Lane who had drawn inform peg 22 in the big lake, and had a very enjoyable 5 hours catching carp to double figures fishing the pole at depth using corn and pellet hookbaits to catch his weight of 203-12 and a very deserved win {well done Mick}.
Robin - Always had a fish in his net!
In second place and back in the frame, after a tough couple of league rounds was Jon Walker who today was on peg 17 ,and who used the feeder feeding pellet fishing corn to keep up the chase trying to catch Mick. Jon also had big fish in his catch but fell a few fish short after 5 hours in his weight of 163-00. In third place was Phil Powell who at this time of year normally has good form after the bread is banned, and today caught the third ton of the day fishing the pole using corn and pellet to put together his weight of 119-14.

Also for the next two weeks there will be Saturdays Opens to give the anglers a chance to practice for the forthcoming Festival. The draw will be at 9.30 fishing 10.30 - 3.30 again to book a place give John a call on the number above.
