Rolfs' Diary 2007
Pairs Silver & Carp Match Today was witness to a new type of match for Rolfslake, a pairs Silver & Carp match. Pairs would draw two pegs and then decide who would fish for silvers and who would fish for Carp. Then two individual Carp & Silverfish matches take place with the points added together at the end to find the winning pair. Simple and definitely different!
Thumbs Up! Silver & Carp Pairs Match a great Success. As expected the match was well attended and more pairs are expected in coming matches. Today's winners made good of a decent draw, indeed they had drawn next to each other on form pegs 23 & 24. Richard Day on 23 opted to fish for Carp and took an easy win with 130lb - almost 100lb ahead of any other angler fishing for the Rolfslake most notorious occupants. Richard's team mate Rob Kite (Both fishing for Good Hope AC) took a fantastic 23lb of Silvers that also included a few big Perch to help boost his weight. Second place pair, Andrew Camden and Alex Richards took 30lb 12oz of Carp and 17lb 8oz of Silvers respectively and like all the other pairs struggled to find any feeding Carp. Heavy rain had not helped the day. The Carp that had fed were taken on Bread Flake either on the pole at mid depth or on the bomb with a decent size of flake on the hook. If your interested in fishing one of the Pairs matches - give Rolf a ring on his mobile to ensure your place is reserved. |
