Rolfs' Diary 2007
Winter League Match 2 of 6 The current run of bad weather preceding the winter matches at Rolfslake has long since ceased to be funning. With high water levels, big frost and heavy winds, there was little to look forward too for most anglers across the country and Rolfslake was no exception. The 2nd winter league match in the series of 6 but witnessed all anglers struggling for bites as the Silvers continued to play hard and the Carp refused to feed in the appalling conditions.
John Bennett with most of his 17lb 4oz total With very little to write about other than Steve Palmer winning from Peg 23 with little over 30lb, it seems the introduction of the Bomb/Waggler rod has had little if no impact so far in the series. However, with the weather so bad I'm sure it will not be long before a huge weight is hauled onto the the winter scales to warm the bitter results thus far Rolfs Team Diamond continue to dominate by extending some 8 points clear at the top of the League Table. With Section wins from Mike Stimson, John Walker and ably supported by Ian McCulloch's 3rd place; it seems the Diamond Geezers are going to prove a tough nut to crack.
