With the previous days weather having been heavy rain and  colder temperatures ,the anglers were not expecting big weights and were hoping not to be drawn in the small lake, as this had extra and colder water in it and does not always respond to quick changes. Today also saw a return after a gap of a few weeks of Mike Stimson who had been missing down on the lake ,whilst he tried a few other venues but the lure of Rolfslake always brings you back.

Today in first place was Rolfslake angler Mike Stimson who was fishing in-form peg 18 in the large lake, and who fished two lines one fishing towards the bush to his left just past the first ledge, and the second at a range of 13 mtrs fishing on the deck. Mike used a combination of corn and pellets to compile his weight of 121-08 and a very narrow victory and deserved win in very tough conditions. In second place and only one fish off a win himself was Mick Chappell who was fishing peg 9 at a range of 10 mtrs down towards the bush to his right {which currently holds lots of fish ,as they feel safe feeding under the bush} and used both corn and pellets to catch his fish. Completing the frame was John Bennett who had a good view of both Mike and Mick whilst he was fishing peg 32. John fished a short line of 4 mtrs towards the bush to his left and a much longer line of 10 mtrs towards the platform of peg 33 fishing tight to the bank ,using only corn hook bait feeding pellet in his weight of 101-00.

The lake has currently about 8 inches of extra water in it at the moment, which have covered some of the platforms so remember to bring your wellies with you .Corn is the top bait at the moment but be careful with your feeding as the fish do not want lots of bait dropped on top of them ,so a refined approach is required to keep the fish happy.

Pauline Bennett has been working very hard on the welcome garden just inside the front gate ,so remember not to park your car or drag your trolley through it please.
