Rolfs' Diary 2007
Wednesday Open Once again Peg 24 dominated the match with Waggler and Pellet tactics fished tight to the bar at 16m+. That's now 6 wins in the last 8 matches for Peg 24. Robin Guppy was pleased to have drawn the peg of the moment and made no mistakes in converting a good draw in to a match win - which isn't always that easy.
Match Winner - Robin Guppy (RS Baits) on Peg 24 Robin knew that loose feed would be key to holding any feeding fish over the bar. Pinging pellet to 16m and beyond quickly establish a number of decent Carp willing to take his Pellet and Corn hookbait's. Constantly repeating this process for 5hrs resulted in a 200lb+ winning bag; a deserved win for a well executed match plan. Elsewhere, with John Bennett on 23 it was going to be tight match between Robin and John - although John could never quite keep pace with the RS Baits matchman on 24. John did however haul 150lb+ onto the scales for second place and a little coin too. John, like Robin, also fished a waggler with pellet over pellet baits.
