BREAKING NEWS JOHN WALKER DID NOT FRAME TODAY AND MICK LANE CAUGHT ON THE DECK AT 5MTRS!
Today saw Colin Storey another multiple winning angler return to Rolfslake after a gap of two years, and was warmly greeted by the anglers at the draw.
The weather had continued to be mild if not a little overcast for this time of year, and the anglers were looking forwards to the prospects of catching a huge bag of fish. The weights around the lake have been more evenly spread over the last couple of weeks ,with pegs 4 , 38 and 18 starting to show some return to form as the anglers start to get to grips with the methods required on these pegs.
In first place today was Rolfslake / Walker Floats sponsored angler Phil Powell, who was fishing newly rebuilt peg 18. Phil today fished up in the water {a method that has won him many matches this year} with his assortment of rigs set at depths between 1 and 4 feet , and fished pellet and meat hook baits. With this peg in Phil was able to reach the carp that have recently been out of range from peg 17, and by feeding heavy and constantly ,he was able to catch at a range of 13mtrs for a super weight of 340-00 and a deserved win.
In second place was Ton-up angler Colin Storey who fished in-form peg 32 and caught using the in vogue method of fishing to the fringes of the bush to your left. Colin used pellet hookbait's feeding pellet to draw the fish away from peg 8 ,catching fish to double figures in his weight of 237-00.
In third place was Mick Lane who was fishing inconsistent peg 4 , and who today fished 5 mtr's using banded pellet on the deck ,feeding heavy with pellet towards the bush to his right for his weight of 223-00.
