Rolfs' Diary 2007
Summer League Match 4 of 6 With the league reaching the half way point, it was now time for the 8 teams to get their heads down to go for victory. Again the lake fished very well ,and it took another big weight to win the match. In first place fishing on peg 8 was Ginger ,who had an enjoyable day fishing at 16 metres along the far bank grasses. Using a combination of shallow rigs fishing pellets and meat, Ginger kept the fish coming for most of the match for a deserved win with a weight of 302-14. In second place fishing lucky peg 15 was Richard Day who again caught back towards peg 16 along the bank fishing pellet feeding heavy with pellet for 274-08. The thing that makes this peg good and frustrating is that you can see all your fish as they come up in the shallows but it also costs you alot of foul hooked fish - as i am sure Richard encountered during the match. Completing the frame was Luke Whitiker who on peg 9 who fished down the edge to the right and out in front fishing pellet /meat for a very good 213-02. On the team front Young ones fished a great match , with 23 out of a possible 24 points for first place and in joint second place with 19 points were Smithys and Rolfs Team Gold. For the anglers that like stats, in the match there was 1x300 weight, 3x200 weights and 12x 100 weights. The section to be in was section A with a combined weight of 1107-00 followed next by section C with 1019-00 and last was section B the shallow lake with 622-00. The total for the match was 2748-00 giving an average weight per angler of 125-00. WHERE in the country can you get these great weights to compare?.
