Phil couldn't get the fish to settle on his 13m line. Consistently spraying, the fish would not feed at any single depth. Moving up and down the water column the Rolfslake matchman did manage to keep in contact with enough fish to return him a net busting 294lb 2oz - I think we would all settle for difficult day like that?
It was a single fish that settled 2nd place with 3 anglers bidding for the prize. Colin Wedgebrow, Paul Newbury and Bill Galt returned 157lb 153lb and 151lb respectively. Colin fished his favoured hard pellet at 6m on peg 7 for a rewarding runners up spot.
The match concludes a fine bank holiday run of 4 matches that were packed with Ton Plus weights. Don't forget to book early for next bank holiday or alternatively, book into one of Rolfs Wednesday or Saturday Opens - Note: Fishing 2pm-7pm will ensure some huge weights for the lucky matchmen fishing the Opens.
Note from Rolf: Bread now has reached it's seasonal summer ban - so that's it for the bread, back to being Sandwich and Toast until the Winter! Time to try the Paste I guess!
