Rolfs' Diary 2007
Spring League Match 4 of 6 The Spring League has come to life with some fantastic weights in the latest round of the Rolfslake Teams of Three. With over 150lb need to win any of the three sections, it's clear the lake has come into summer condition a few weeks ahead of the normal seasonal changes; mostly thanks to a brilliant run of settled weather in April.
Loyd Moss - Added a Section Win for Team SPRO Mick Lane took top honors from unfancied Peg 30, which also reflects the top condition of the lake, by fishing an effort packed 16m with pellet over pellet. Mick took the majority of his fish shallow but caught at most depths in the early periods of the match. Mick's winning weight of 212lb was almost chased down by a super effort from John Hague on Peg 15. Fishing a combination of Pole and Feeder, John presented Luncheon meat over pellet for fish to mid double in a section winning 201lb 12oz for second place in the match. Loyd Moss continued his consistent form with a section win on corner peg 2 in the shallow half of the lake. Again Luncheon meat was the key over a bed of pellet fished in the margins to the left hand side of the peg for the SPRO Team Matchman. Loyd landed 160lb 12oz of quality Carp in his section winning total. Elsewhere, plenty of backing weights around the lake with the expected slow starts on the harder pegs. Luncheon meat, Pellet and now Paste have started to take plenty of fish. The margins are improving with each day and spraying up in the water is worth a try on any peg. The feeder is becoming less and less effective as Pole starts to dominate in warmer 'Paste-Like' conditions. FULL RESULTS TO FOLLOW IN A FEW HOURS
