Winter League Match 5 of 6 Rolfs Team Diamond managed to maintain an 8 point advantage going into the final match of 6 in the Rolfslake Winter League 2007 with thanks to a fine section win from John Walker with 19lb of silver fish from B section peg 29. John's bag was typical of the fish taken today which witnessed close to 150lb of Silver fish hauled onto the scales in less conditions that could only be described as desperate.
Match Winner Steve Palmer Loyd Moss on Peg 40 made up most of his catch with a massive 3lb 12oz Perch in a 7lb 8oz total - Loyd was met at his peg by an oversized pike sat in the margin, not a good sign in a section that is renowned for being hard at best in winter. Once again it was Pegs 23 and 24 that took top spot with 70lb 8oz of waggler caught Carp from the later for SPRO Matchman Steve Palmer. Steve kept his head in front for most of the match with the only real challenge coming from next door peg 23 in the form of Chris Horricks's effort of 46lb+ on the tip - both anglers depended on large bread flake hook baits for the bulk of the Carp.
