Rolfs' Diary 2007
Winter League Match 3 of 6 The current run of bad weather continued with the last few nights running with minus 3 and minus 6 respectively. The hard frost put the Carp down and once again the weight reflected the poor conditions as bright sunshine just added rubbed salt into the wounds of the ever patient match anglers.
John Walker with a Great Brace of Perch Pete Good took 12 Carp from Peg 2 on the running-feeder, Pete took advantage of the rules now allowing a running line to reach the corner that was previously out of reach of Peg 2. Casting close to the bank and alternating both bread and maggot hook baits was key to the deserved match win. Mike Stimson continued the good fortune and much deserved great form of Rolfs Team Diamond with a captains innings from Peg 31, Mike ran away with yet another section win as he fished 16m on the pole and feeder both presenting sizeable bread flake baits. John Walker took a brace of Perch (3lb 8oz & 3lb 4oz) from Peg 17, fishing worm and maggot baits at 16m John was delighted to make best of a poor winter draw and also take valuable points for his team.
