Rolfs' Diary 2006
Boxmoor Social Club With the temperature dropping into the mid 20's the Boxmoor Social Club had a pleasant day's weather to go along with a belting days fishing at Rolfslake. Regular visitors to the Oxfordshire Match Fishing Venue, The Boxmoor Social Club took no fewer than 13 weights over the magical Ton weight in a closely contested competition.
Tim Irving took top spot with 184lb 12oz's fishing paste at 7m to beat Recce Smith into second place by just one fish - and a small fish at that! Recce took 182lb 7oz that kept Del Smith's 170lb in third place. Recce fished tight to the bush on the left of peg 32, just on top of the noted ledge, for the bulk of the weight. As always, Rolf enjoyed the company of the Social Club and wishes to thank those who helped on the day with the weighing in and all those who made the whole visit a real pleasure for the owner and Club alike. Rolf added that the club has a number of real class anglers and some of the younger anglers coming through are a real encouragement for the match angling scene around Oxford. He took time to name Sam Beasley and 13 year old Daniel Twine. |
