Rolfs' Diary 2006
Bank Holiday Monday Open . Again cool temperatures kept the weights down this week-end. Indeed a deluge of rain the night before cooled thing off just enough to put the fish off the feed. The could not dampen the spirits of the bank holiday match, which was highlighted with the return of the prodigal son Gary Thorpe, who in turn drew Peg 33 - an absolute flyer; goes to show some things never change.
Gary fished tight to the bank on his left to record the expected win predicted soon after the world record holder drew the peg he love so much at the oxfordshire venue. Bill Golt got his head down on Peg 4 to take a fine 160lb 8oz, but fell 40lb short of catching Gary on 33. Please Note: the League Matches are now 12pm Draw |
