Summer League Day 1 of 6
With a dissapointed turn out of just 6 teams of 3 for the Summer league, it looks certain that those teams that did book in are in for some fantastic sport with less than 20 fishing each round the weights look set for being some of the biggest witnessed at the World Record Breaking Oxfordshire Match Fishing Venue. Just to underline that point, Colin Wedgebrow took a fantastic 283lb 8oz to win from Peg 15; although it was once again the Rolfs Team Gold Team members that dominated the day again with Mick Lane and Phil Powell taking section wins that included a 252lb return for Mick Lane on Peg 13 and a fine 189lb 14oz for Phil on Peg 28. Other team member John Bennet took a belting 271lb 14oz for 2nd indiviudal on the day but failed to overhall Colin's efforts for Team Fishermans Friend A. In Total 12 of the 17 fishing returned more than 100lb+ with 4 of those weights over the 200lb barrier. Now who wouldn't want to fish in a match like that? |
