Rolfs' Diary 2006
Winter League Match 2 of 6 ......Winter League Match 2 of 6 and 'boy' did it Rain! The matchmen booked into the Rolfslake Winter League match 2 had to overcome some of the heaviest rain we've seen for some time and not surprisingly the fish had switched off just to rub the salt into the already wet wounds.
Frank Wedgebrow (Keeping every crossed didn't work for Frank) For some reason it's always a surprise to everyone, except Rolf, when peg 2 runs away with a match win? Today was no exception, although it hasn't been in the draw bag too consistently this year, the corner peg produced the goods for Loyd Moss who took a match winning 135lb 12oz; on the day an impressive weight. Elsewhere, bites were at a premium with every fish landed changing the makeup of the section placing's. Although not packed with bumper weights, the match was very tight as every angler did what they could to produce the best from their allotted peg. RS Baits took 2 of the 3 sections along with a 4th place for an impressive 24 points that elevated them to the top of the league and has given them some 6 points for 'breathing space' too. Bread and Meat took the bulk of the fish today with pellet the most consistent feed bait as always.
