Rolfs' Diary 2006
Sunday Open Mick Lane fished long and shallow for a fine double ton and a match win from Peg 17. Mick 260lb 8oz was head and shoulders above the chasing pack that was headed by Ian Higgins on the in form Peg 13; taking 181lb to just pip Colin Wedgebrow on Peg 15 who took 167lb 8oz, unlike Ian and Mick who had fished shallow - Colin took most of his fish on the deck with hard banded pellet over loose fed Freedom Feeds pellet.
Elsewhere Phil Powell would have been disappointed with his 129lb 8oz from peg 30, both Phil and the Peg had been in better form than 4th - but that fishing. Most of the other backing weights came from those that fished the deck. The lake continues to fish well with plenty of fish around the 8lb -14lb mark being taken both shallow and on the deck. Paste still to come into it's own. |
