Rolfs' Diary 2006
Saturday Open
Russell Alexander kept up a good run of results with a fine win in the Rolfslake Saturday Open. Russell drew fancied peg 37 and fished Paste over plenty of pellet under the vacant peg 38. Russell took Rolf's advice and attacked the peg at the noted hot spot from the whistle and soon found himself building a good weight that would eventually be enough to secure top spot in the Autumnal conditions.
Gary Page (Runner Up) Gary Page took a number of fish well into double figures (featured above) in a return of 176lb from peg 32 to secure 2nd place ahead of fellow GOT Baits team mate Matt Nutt on peg 24 who took 134lb of Carp at 15m on sprayed pellet. Gary fished at 8m and kept the fish up in the water with regular pellet loose feed over the top of his meat/pellet and bread hookbait's. Warm conditions continue to confuse the fish and angler alike. All baits seem to be taking fish but the bigger weights are tailing off as the day's start to get much shorter. Note: Points match announced for 3rd December. Sponsored by Vespe the Day will be a trial to see how much interest there is in points matches this winter? Pete Archer has a day of fun organised for those lucky enough to secure a ticket that are now available on a first 'paid' first served basis. |
