Rolfs' Spring Diary 2006
Spring League Day 4 of 6
After a slow start all round a few fish were on offer for most anglers in the closing hours. The fish continue to spawn and have little else on their minds at the moment. Keith Ashby (Fish 4 Wales) took 111lb 15oz from Peg 7 to push Billy Ashington 109lb 4oz into 2nd place. Jon Walker had a fine 88lb for third place that could have been taken by any one of a dozen anglers given 4 or 5 more fish. One or two pegs seemed devoid of fish but on the whole most pegs produced 30lb or more in difficult conditions during the spawning period. It is worthy of note that the 6 weeks following the spawning period are the one that as a rule return the most double and treble Tons. Here's to that!
Tim Lynch Rolfslake Team Gold took top points but had to share the award with Fisherman's Friend (The Team previously fishing under the banner of GOT Baits Juniors!) all the same a good result for Midland based team. The league result now looks like a formality with the local Rolfslake team needing just a few point from the last 2 matches to secure the Spring League victory. |
