Rolfs' Diary 2006
Winter League Team 'Fish 4 Wales' made a good start to the Rolfslake Teams of 3 Winter League with a fine win on Day 1 of the League. Restricted to 10 Teams of 3, it was dissappointing to hear that one of the Teams decided to fish an alternative venue without giving notice to the League Organisers. Having held the draw for as long as possible it soon became apprarent that the 27 had been let down. Even more dissapointing was the fact that the 3 included lake regulars and there were 2 hopeful teams held in reserve that could have stepped in. The organisers are now left with one team short and a miss-balanced draw. The team know who they are, but Rolf decided not to name and shame them as he's yet to have a chance to talk to the individuals. He was however supprised to hear of at least two of the team fishing an alternative venue! Match Anglers Hey?
Malc Doyle, Steve Wilson and Nick Williams constructed the trio of Fish 4 Wales that took 26 from a possible 30 points. With a number of dry nets, including Welsh International Andy Johnstone the consistant start for the winners was even sweeter. Ernie Malyon took 119lb 8oz for the individual match win, his team Cove AC took 21 points for 3rd Place, just 2 points behind the second placed Rolfs Gold. Team Muppets cristened their Name with an appauling Draw that returned just 9 points; it was however, Team GOOD Hope that held the table up with 6 points. May Good Hope will get a little bit of Good Luck in the drawbag next match. |
