Rolfs' Diary 2006
Wednesday Open The first of the Rolfslake Wednesday opens could not have proceeded with a worse evenings weather; the skies cleared and the air temperature dropped to a toe numbing -5! The consequent heavy frost was slow to clear but the bright sun did its best on those area not in the shade.
Mick Jones drawn on Peg 14 fished meat over pellet for plenty of bites and ran out an easy winner with the only Ton Up bag of the day - 127lb 8oz. Considering the weather the lake fished ok but has yet to find the form that kept the Ton Up bags coming last spring. Nick Bryant finished one fish ahead of John Bennett from Peg 24, which did live up to the pre match billing. Given a touch of better weather the fishing should improve for the next weeks match and next weekends long awaited Easter Festival. Notice: Rolf has applied a pellet limit ban until further notice. Each angler will be limited to 3kg of Feed Pellet (Dry), this has been applied by popular demand and will be in force immediately. |
