Scott Whittaker fished 16m on deck for 7 fish and a match winning 56lb 10oz from fancied peg 24. Fishing maggot on the hook over a few loose fed pellets was the key to success on a very hard day.

Reserve, Richard Baston stepped in to cover an absent team member and took a fin 49lb 14oz from Peg 17. Luke Whittaker struggled on peg 18 for 29lb exactly and 3rd overall. The day started at just after 6am for lake owner Rolf, who spend a few hours desperately clearing ice from the lake that was some 2 inches thick in places.

Andy Johnstone went home wishing Rolf hadn't cleared the ice. Drawn on Peg 34, the Welsh International angler spent 5 hours frantically scratching around for a fish. When it comes to drawing good pegs, Andy usually has no problems, indeed he's known in some areas as 'Picasso' - It seems Andy is saving all his luck for the Easter Festival. I bet he'll draw 34 then too!
