Summer League Day 5 of 6
It's become very tight at the top with all to play for in the last round of the summer league following today's result. At the final whistle Fisherman's B had taken 2 sections wins and a 2nd for a near perfect result to leave them joint top with Rolfs Team Gold on 68 Points. Better still in a strange turn of the coin, it was Fisherman's A that also recorded two sections wins and a 4th - due to a draw in B section for top spot - this left them just 5 points off the lead as Rolfs Team Gold dropped points in all sections!
Bill Galt On the Day it was Fisherman's A matchman Ginger that lead the charge from Peg 4 with a match win and a triple Ton - a full 100lb ahead of any other angler on 307lb. Bill Galt (Fisherman's B) took 2nd slot from consistent peg 7 with 206lb 8oz. Once again the weights were dominated by close in fishing with paste over pellet. With all to fish for on the last day for 3 teams it will be an exciting climax to the Summer League that has recorded some of the best weights in a match recorded anywhere -- a fishing 1st I guess? Note: Please remember the earlier draw times of 12pm. Rolf is also now taking booking for teams for the Winter Leagues 8th Oct til 17 Dec 06 (6 Matches) and Winter League 2 on 7 Jan 07 til 18 March 07 (6 Matches). Teams have already started booking in (Teams of 3 again) and will be limited to 11 teams in total. Following the success of this league - I would book soon rather than later to avoid disappointment. |
