Sunday 20th March 2005 - Open Match

Bernie Fraser
(TUB)
Peg 17 - 178lb

"As I predicted yesterday, the winning weight was almost double in the Sunday match "

With plenty of feed in the pegs from the Saturday Match, the Carp at Rolfslake were ready to put in a pre-easter appearance. Bernie Fraser drew the same peg as yesterday and never looked back. Fishing a longer line (14m) than in the Saturday match, Bernie was rewarded with a steady flow of Carp to double figures that secured a good win on a decent day.

Bernie spent most of the Weekend sat on Peg 17. Although he lost a few fish yesterday that cost him a decent frame, he more than made up for his poor luck today.

Mark Burns of Stevens Tackle fished peg 17 at 16m and sprayed pellet to draw fish from peg 34 on the opposite bank. The resulting 123lb was testimony to the tactics success. Elsewhere a few Carp to be had on most pegs, but 6 fish seems to be good on most pegs. Shallow half of lake (or small lake) remains solid with silver fish.

A day out at Rolfslake for Ian.

A Bar of Gold - The Car-Park bank failed to produce a frame weight in the Sunday Open. Ian holds one of only a few decent carp taken off the bank today.
