Saturday 16th April 2005 - Open Match

Bernie Fraser
(Ton Up Baits)
Peg 24 - 99lb 8oz

"Fish still not responding - but Bernie doing alright still "

Fishing at 15m on the deck with pellet was easy for Bernie Fraser at Peg 24 as he produced 8oz's short Ton for a clear win in the Rolfslake Saturday Open. However, elsewhere bites proved near impossible to temp as Match Anglers continue to struggle - much like the spring weather.

Drawing Peg 24 was the Key to Bernie's win some would argue. I'm sure Bernie might agree.

Rolf has the 'Aerators' running in an attempt to boost the oxygen levels and spur the fish into feeding, but even this seems to have had limited response. It wasn't all doom and gloom though. Mark Fryer took 70lb from peg 7 and John Harrison's 33lb was the best on the Motorway Bank. Dave Wightman tipped back fish to loose him some section coin from disappointing Peg 8.

PICTURE REVIEW

John Oliver
Epson

21lb from Peg 23 and a section win for John in a poor match. Although, John seemed to enjoy himself all the same.

John Harrison
Crosskeys

John was 3rd today with 33lb from peg 17. Not the most eventful day, but at least he had a few fish.
