Peg 37- 235lb
"Even the Rain couldn't dampen the spirits "
Colmic's Colin Wedgbrow took the best match weight of the year from Peg 37 at Rolfslake today with a net bulging 235lb of muscle packed Carp. As the shade hit the water by mid afternoon the West Midlands based angler got into top gear by taking a good run of fish to double figures. Swindon's Mick Lane did his best to keep up with Colin from the Peg next door but fell short of top spot and a double ton with an impressive 195lb 8oz. Eddy Taylor Green fished large lumps of paste tight to the bank for 3rd spot at Peg 34 to become the first angler of the year to record a Ton fishing just paste. Eddy was just 2 fish short of recoding a double Ton but was delighted to set a new PB with a fantastic 189lb 8oz.

Colin enjoy's his Sunday's out at Rolfslake - so does his wallet. 235lb represents a decent days match fishing. (Pic Last week) |
Elsewhere, with fish topping and blowing all round the lake it was a surprise the the weights dropped away behind John Walker in 4th spot with 146lb. Fish to 25lb+ broke a few hearts as plenty of big doubles put in an appearance on the boards. The best put on the scales today was a 19lb Common taken by John Walker on Peg 32. Expect the fish to spawn in the coming week should the weather improve as forecast, weights will explode following this period. |
