Sunday 9th January 2005 - Open Match

Paul Barnes
Steve Rowe and team mate of Paul (Milton Keynes) had drawn in the unfancied shallow lake on Peg 1. By fishing back in front of the vacant peg 40, Steve took a number of BIG carp for 124lb 8oz, the smallest was a fish just over the 8lb mark and the biggest just over 14lb. Steve took them all on the pole with bread hook baits. Mal Talbot drew on of the fancied pegs, but better known for its summer exploits, to take a good 112lb 12oz of Bomb/Pole - again taken on Bread hook baits. Amazingly, No one caught any silver fish and all the coin from this match made up 2 extra sections in the main pool - I guess Gary Thorpe wishes he hadn't tip all those Carp back from Peg 24 now? Cheers. |
