Sunday 08 May 2005 - Open Match

Matt Nutt
(GOT Baits)
Peg 37 - 124lb

"Peg 37 has now taken 4 straight wins - hopefully Ipswich Town and Reading can Win Sunday Lunchtime - Results may be delayed accordingly."

Matt Nutt (GOT Baits) made no mistakes (again) when he drew Peg 37 for the 2nd match running at Rolfslake. Having won from the in form peg on last Bank Holiday Monday, Matt knew exactly what to do. Starting on the longer 15m line, Matt took a few fish but struggled to get them settled - as has been the case in the last 4 matches. Unable to get them to take a bait up in the water, the GOT Baits matchman simply rotated between fishing on top of the bar at 11m and into the slightly deeper water at 15m with a soft 6mm Pellet presented on the bottom for a match winning 124lb.

Peg 37 The peg to draw Sunday Morning. Latest form looks like this.. WWWW.

Mark Bowerman did his best to upset the form of Peg 37 by taking 116lb 4oz from Peg 28 by fishing a hard pellet up in the water to win the best of the rest. First time visitor to the complex, Phil Grocott (Ball Green) took the only other Ton of the day from Peg 2 to keep the likes of Mal Talbot and Pete Archer in 4th and 5th places respectively. A decent 58lb 8oz's was needed to make the top 10 today as the lake starts to make a decent recovery following the run of changeable weather.

PICTURE REVIEW
Phil Grocott
Ball Green.

First visit to Rolfslake for Phil and a decent TON UP Bag for his troubles - and a little match coin as well. Phil, exploited the inside line at Peg 2 to take fish to double figures.

Pete Archer
Gold Valley

Pete took 91lb from peg 30 today for a section win on a sometimes difficult peg.

Mark Bowerman
Calvert AC

Mark continues to get good results at Rolfslake. Today was no exception, 116lb from 28.

Nigel Johnson
Ball Green.

First visit to Rolfslake for Nigel too. Nigel's 60lb plus could have been a serious challenge for a frame place with just a few bonus fish.

Pete Coxhead
Rolfslake.

Festival winner Pete Coxhead failed to make the top ten today but enjoyed a day in the sunshine all the same. Pete's red hydro a prefect foil for the hard fighting Carp at Rolfslake.

Mal Talbot
Kamasan

4th Place for Mal Talbot today from Peg 23.
