Saturday 5th March 2005 - Open Match

Stan Robak
(Ton Up Baits)
Peg 24 (Golden Peg) - 77lb 8oz

"Breaking the Ice today was the easy part, fishing the match is where it got hard "

Stan Robak (Ton Up Baits) pulled out a peach of a peg from the draw bag today. Not only did he have hot favorite, Peg 24, but it was also the golden peg. With the wind pushing broken ice into the opposite bank, Stan watch with delight as his float slid away time and time again to secure a comfortable win from the bonus peg with 77lb 8oz. Stan fished at 15m with sweetcorn on the bottom of a shelf that marks the start of the infamous Peg 24 bar..

Stan 'Picasso' Robak drew well again today, but had the added bonus of the Golden Peg.

Mike Stimson, Matt Nutt and Dan Jones all contested the runners up spot with less than 1 fish separating them at the final weigh-in. Mike Stimson took the honors with a pound less than 50 for a deserved win to continue a good run of form for the Didcot matchman.

FINAL reminder from Rolf: Easter Festival. Entrance Fees should have been paid by Close of Play 01 Mar 05. Reserves may be given any unpaid slots from 01 Mar 05. You've all been warned.

Ian Tarbox
Rolfslake

Ian's first visit to the lake was much like mine! - He spent the first part of the day clearing ice from he lake - very nice. Ian drew a poor peg but put together a few silvers for the top coin the the Silver Fish match.

Dave Wightman
Simons 2000

Keeping warm a priority today. Dave had plenty of soft hookers but no fish to feed them to!
