Geoff Ringer
(Ringer Baits)
Peg 16 - 87lb 8oz

Geoff Ringer won the Bank Holiday Monday Open at Rolfslake with a tidy 87lb 8oz from Peg 16 with an all Carp catch taken on the bomb rod with sweetcorn and multiple pellet hook baits. Dave Ashdown took second spot by fishing bread punch on the bomb cast to the rising edge of the bar in the middle of the lake - almost opposite Geoff on the far side bank.

Geoff Ringer

Geoff nets a sizeable Carp from Peg 16 on his way to a match win today.

Ton Up baits matchman Stan Robak stuck it out on the pole for the best part of the match, only resorting to the bomb in the later stages. Fishing sweetcorn hook baits, his 72lb 4oz was good enough for 3rd place and the last of the main frame.

Rod Smith of Simons 2000 won the silver fish match with a level 11lb from peg 28 as the silver fish start to put in an appearance for the fist time this winter.

As the weather continues to be out of sorts, Rolf has lifted the ban on the feeder rod. The lifting of the ban will be on a trial basis and will last until 01 Apr 05, although Rolf reserves the right to re- impose the ban.  A maximum main line of 5lb will be enforce - so don't forget to set those clutches. (NO BRAIDS). Bomb Only - Running Lead. NO FEEDERS.

PICTURE REVIEW

Geoff Ringer
Ringer Baits

Geoff Ringer hanging on to a decent Rolfslake Carp.

John Bennett
Swindon AC

A rare fish for John today.

Dave Ashdown
Crosskeys

A lump on the bread punch for Dave. With the fish clearly over 8lb, Dave weighted the fish immediately, dipped it in the Salt dips and returned the fish in tip to condition.

Mark Bowerman
- Simons 2000

A good fish in the bag as Mark starts to challenge for a frame spot in the Bank Holiday Open at Rolfslake.

Stan Robak
Ton Up Baits

A Few fish on the Pole for Stan did quite get him in Pole position, however a 3rd place will do nicely.

Bob Johnson
Ton Up Baits

Waiting and Wishing and still the Tip will not go round. Bob is amused at his tip's lack of activity.
