REVIEW

Winner at Rolfslake

Mick Lane (Swindon AC )

Mike Lane
(Swindon AC)
221lb 8oz Peg 24

Fished up in the water at 14/16m over sprayed pellet for Carp into double figures. Mike managed to catch from the off and like most had a better second half to the match by putting a few weighers on the boards to boost his pre weight in score. With 3 nets busting with prime Carp, the Swindon based angler went home much happier and a little richer than others.

John Bennett
(Shimano Tipton VDE)
195lb 12oz Peg 4

Very much a fan of the paste it was no surprise that the Swindon AC based John Bennett took all his fish on the soft stuff. Fishing to the first drop off close the bank, John also took Carp into double figures in his near 200lb bag. However, at the scales he found himself 3 good fish short of Mike on Peg 24.

Elsewhere

Fish have finished spawning for now and are showing signs of feeding well. Few fish starting to come to paste. Noted pegs fishing well with weights elsewhere for those willing to slog it out up in the water with sprayed pellet. Expect to feed in excess of 6 pts of Pellet - At Least.

Amer Jawad

Phil Powell

Took a number of fish tight to the bushes to his right on Peg 13 to take a good 100lb plus weight.

John Weedon at Rolfslake

Kevin Pope

Being played by a Carp estimated at well over 20lb. Kevin and the Carp parted company at the landing net...

.

Trevor Jeans

Took a few fish but like most failed to put a run of fish together to push for a Top Ten Placing.
.
Tony Taylor
(Anchor)

Spent part of the match watching half of his new Pole swim round the middle of the lake! Something about peg 16 and Top Sets? At least Tony got his back.
.Steve Liston

Steve Liston
(Swindon AC)

One of a few Swindon AC matchmen to do well today.

Rolfslake - Ton Up Baits Angler Bernie Fraser

Bernie Fraser
(Ton Up Baits)

A string of line bites and foul hooked fished didn't reflect the good match Bernie had from Peg 27. With lots of fish in the Peg it was hard to sort out a proper bite. However, Bernie did much better than those around him.

Lloyd Rush
(Trabucco)

Never got to grips with the Peg. Too may fizzing fish and no bites left Lloyd pulling his hair out.

Colin Storey
(Ton Up Baits)

First trip in ages for Colin, Drew Peg 8 and bagged up in the last 2 hours after 3 hours for 4 fish. Finished with a framing 150lb+ weight.. .

Did you fish this match and I've missed out (or messed up!) some of the details?   Let me know all the info - admin@rolfslake.co.uk
