Gary
Thorpe (Ton Up Baits)
Continuing
his good form following a runners-up spot in the Saturday
match, Gary went one better with a win in the Sunday match
from Peg 16. Noted for fishing better on the Sunday Peg 16
only produced a single fish yesterday! Today the peg returned
just short of 100lb with 97lb 8oz.
With
the Carp seemingly backing away from the pellet at the moment,
Gary once again fed just maggot and sweetcorn. With the weather
taking a turn for the colder Rolf has extended the use of
sweetcorn for another 2 weeks. For the record Gary started
at 14m but followed the fish to the lake maximum 16m by the
end of the match.
Ian
Young (Anchor MG)
Drawn
on Peg 14, Ian made best use of a good draw by taking 71lb
12oz of sweetcorn tempted Carp at 14.5m over the noted bar.
Ian did enough to keep Rolfslake backed Russell
Alexander in 3rd place with 70lb 14oz from un fancied
peg 23.
Elsewhere
Tony
West (Banstead) Found sport a little slow in corner
peg 4 and reverted to tempting Roach on Maggot, however Tony
soon found himself into a 16lb Common Carp on a 4 Elastic,
following a few missed heart beats Tony eventually landed
the fish and several others on maggot to take 34lb 12oz in
total.
