Top 2 in Last of the Silver fish Matches
Stan Robak 12lb 8oz Peg 28 (2nd) and Gary 'Can't draw' Thorpe 29lb 8oz Peg 30 (Winner)
Mark Burns (Stevens Tackle)
Mark Burns, with a net busting 143lb 10oz, returned a rare win from Peg 37 in rising temperatures in the Sunday Rolfslake Open. Mark took full advantage of the bar that runs between his peg and Peg 4 on the opposite bank. Fishing at 16m with 4mm Pellet feed and 6mm hook baits was employed as the default attack for the peg and produced a good run of fish to low double figures all from the deck.
Mark had to fight off the challenge from Tim Lynch on corner Peg 34, who returned an arm aching 140lb 80z to finnish the obligatory 1 fish short of the top spot. Tim fished a long 13m for the Peg for fish to good double figures

Wow, what a scorcher! well 22 Deg is not bad for April and compared to the 40mph NW's we've become accostomed to over the past month this was a welcome change for the good.
Carp milling around the top and taking baits very shallow but the bulk of the fish were taken on bottom. Still not coming on the Paste yet - but watch this space. Heavy feeding not always the key - but it does help when all else has failed - if nothing else, feeding heavy does save Rolf feeding the Carp floaters in the evening when you've all gone home to your cold beers and football results .....
