Chris
Davies (Prestwood & District) Peg 14 - 81lb 08oz
Match
winner in the Saturday Open at Rolfslake was Chris Davies (Prestwood
and District) drawn on Peg 14. Chris took full advantage of the
winter flyer in a match fished in good winter sunshine. Although
going elsewhere was very slow, Chris had a good carp in the net
within 20mins from the all in. For the next four hours 40mins Chirs
continued to harvest bites from the noted bar that dominates a peg
that has produced 6 winners in 7 matches. Chirs eventually took
81lb 8oz to the scales for a well earned win. On Peg 28 was another
winter frame regular in the form of Gary Thorpe (TUB). Gary, somehow
produced a 53lb bag for second place from a peg with no form at
all. As with all the framing weights the method was fishing long
with sweetcorn over Ton Up Pellets. Tony Taylor (Anchor MG) equaled
the performance of Gary with a 51lb bag from peg 29 for the third
spot.
Elsewhere.
Slow going. Robin Flowers today produced 34lb from peg 33 fishing
tight to the bank in shallow water to take a Carp of 14lb 8oz and
20lb of smaller specimens - on a day when the silver fish wouldn't
feed!!
