Matt
Nutt (Prestwood & District) Peg 14 - 56lb 08oz
Match
winner in the Saturday Open at Rolfslake was Matt Nutt (Prestwood
and District) drawn on Peg 14. Matt took full advantage of the winter
flyer in a match that was ruined by a heavy frost and a week of
heavy rain. With water levels up to 1 foot over the normal platforms,
bites were hard to come by from all pegs. Matt fished a standard
Pellet and Sweetcorn approach at 14+m to take Carp to 8lb in his
winning weight of 56lb 08oz. Although not a record breaker for weight
the match was one of the closest for a long time with 2nd and 3rd
place just on good fish off winning. In second place on Peg 24 was
Maidenheads' Stan Robak with 49lb 12oz and 3rd spot went to lake
stalwart Gary Thorpe on Peg 16, both anglers fished at 16m and took
fish on sweetcorn and pellets over potted pellet.

A big influx of cold water killed sport this weekend (AGAIN!) With
the Carp off the feed it may be possible to win a section or even
frame with silver fish in the coming matches. Don't forget some
maggots!
