Gary Acock posted to top weight of the season with a belting 356lb return from Peg 32 in the Saturday Open at Rolfslake.
Gary attacked the peg from the off and the positive approach was rewarded with a swim packed full of prime Carp. Taking full advantage of Peg 8 on the opposite bank not being drawn today, he fed 8m and fished just 6 inches deep with a Pellet hook bait. Gary tempted a good number of fish to doulbe figures in his 350lb plus return.
On a day that witnessed Dave Wightman taking a mirror Carp of 21lb in his third placed 242lb, Gary took a number of double figure fish and reminded other lake regulars of his own intent of being the angler that take the Worlds first 450lb return.
John Bennett
Swindon
243lb 12oz Peg 23
The rumors on the bank are that John is going to change his name to John 'Peg 23' Bennett as he seems to be unable to draw any other peg at the Oxfordshire complex. Although, I'm sure John will not be complaining with a string of framing places from the not so popular peg. This was his second double ton in a many weeks from the Peg.
As one of the Top Paste anglers on the venue, John was not expected to fish anything else and did not disappoint other than falling just short of yet another weight over the 250lb mark.
Elsewhere
With wet, wet and windy weather following heavy rain all week; you would have been forgiven for thinking that weights would have been on the down side for the Saturday match. Not SO! Plenty of fish to be taken from all swims. Paste remains the top bait

Can't get away from Peg 23, but with a string of double Tons - who would want to?
Norman Youlden
Rolfsalke
Equaled the lakes Golden Orfe record with this bumper specimen of exactly 6lb.
