Chris
Davies (Prestwood & Dist) For the third
match running Peg 14 finished well in front of the chasing pack.
Today it was the turn of Prestwood and Districted backed Chirs Davies.
Despite returning a number of fish via a hole in his landing net
the somewhat red faced angler banked a creditable 133lb
120z - maybe the pools will pay for a new net - or will
he risk waiting to see if he wins one in the coming Easter Festival
backed by Van Den Eynde courtesy of Mark Sawyer. With the fish averaging
5lb, that must have been some hole? All the same Chris spent time
plumbing the peg in order to find the small bar at 14-15m, as a
lake regular Chris new exactly what to look for and never put a
foot wrong - other than dropping a few fish out of the landing net
- for the whole five hours. Better still as a 'Gooner' the Arsenal
scored 4 to go top; so in all a good day out for Chris.
Stan
Roback (Maidenhead Baits) Sat
opposite Chris on Car Park peg 24 was Maidenhead Baits backed angler
Stan Roback. As is the 'Norm' with this peg, Stan found himself
chasing Chris for fish and a slow start seemed to be the difference
at the weigh in. Fishing a sweetcorn bait at 16m over potted pellets,
Stan fell just short of the Ton with a runners-up weight of 94lb
4oz.

The predicted extra water put fish off the feed, even though a few
fish were spotted topping during the match. Noted pegs producing
the bites with some of the not so fancied pegs slow going in the
cooler weather. Expect more pegs to produce in the Sunday matches
as Carp get the taste for pellets during the Saturday match. Silver
fish matches having very little interest at the moment.
