REVIEW

Norman Youlden

Colin Wedgbrow (Slapheads)

A regular winner at Rolfslake, Colin Wedgbrow added to his increasingly impressive list of double tons with a net busting 232lb 8oz from Peg 23. Fishing floating chum mixer and feeding lightly to bring the fish up in the water the fish were in the peg in BIG numbers and hammered the floating baits as Colin took fish after fish for this impressive return.

Mick Wilkinson (Sensas)

Fishing on Peg 8 is always a pleasure, and today was no exception for Sensas backed angler Mick Wilkinson. Although coming second in any match is always a bitter sweet experience, taking 177lb of prime carp when doing so can take the edge off the disappointment. Fishing tight to the grasses at 14m was the method as the carp soon settled under the undercut bank and accepted Mick's free offerings with much enthusiasm. Mick's fish over 8lb totaled 140lb which kept him busy running backwards and forwards from weigh and dipping station.

Elsewhere

Despite cold rain water in the lake weights were encouraging. A few fish starting to pick up paste baits but the fish have yet to make the annual switch from 6mm hookers to golf ball sized moldings of soft paste. With Ton Up Baits releasing a long awaited Ton Up Bait Paste with has been developed in conjunction with Rolfs, I expect Rolf and Ton Up to run out of supplies very quickly.

Fish are responding very well in most pegs to most tac-tics. Its just a case of getting the right combination on the day.

Winner at Rolfslake

Along with the match win at Rolfslake this Sunday Colin added another double ton to his list .

Quick Note from Lloyd:

Sorry for late results and lack of photo's - I have been fishing matches on Mon/Tues and after downloading the pics sent by Rolf on Wednesday I have lost my USB Key with them on! Hope to update page at later date with a few Pics - Normal service will resume next week!)

Did you fish this match and I've missed out (or messed up!) some of the details?   Let me know all the info - admin@rolfslake.co.uk
