With
the Car Park bank showing some form, Peg 24 was not a bad
draw for lake regular Kevin Arathoon. Fishing with pellet
at 16m Kevin fished mid water for the bulk of his 161lb catch.
With constant loose feeding of 4mm pellet Kevin kept the fish
mostly interested in his peg and ran out clear winner by 40lb's.
Kevin, like most other anglers, found the wind hampering good
presentation. A good weight under the conditions for any angler.
John
Lees (Ton Up Baits)
A
welcome return to the Rolfslake frame for John Lees after
the winter of plodding up and down the frozen canal towpaths.
Drawn next to match winner Kevin, John had his work cut out
as Peg 25 is noted for being next to a good Peg! however,
the peg had recently shown some form as well and John made
no mistake in tempting a number of good Carp for a net busting
125lb. John fished similar tac-tics to Kevin on a 16m line
in strong winds.
Silver
Fish.
Still
plenty of silver fish to be had for those not drawn on a few
Carp. Expect weights to get better and better as the water
temp continues to rise this spring.

Elsewhere
Carp
responding well following a week of mild weather - although
a cold night last night kept a lid on the weights for today.
Expect weights to pick up well as we approach the Van Den
Eynde Easter Festival.
