On the Peg everyone fancies in the Summer was Rolfslake backed Angler, and last Saturday's winner Russell Alexander. From Peg 8, Russell fed 4mm pellet tight over to the far side undercut bank and fished soft hook pellets over the top. Russell likes to pre-soak his pellets the night before to help them break down quicker, and with a growing number of match wins here at Rolfslake he may have a point! His 151lb 8oz catch was head and shoulders above the other weights around him as bites proved hard to tempt following a week of cooler weather.
John Lees (TUB)
Local angler John Lees took full advantage of a decent draw by returning yet another 100lb+ bag from Rolfslake. His 113lb return looked good at one stage to be enough to topple Russell from top spot, however, fishing tight to the right hand bank was only good enough for second spot and a good days fishing. John also fed Ton Up 4mm Pellet and fished a 6mm soft alternative on the hook.
Elsewhere
With the weather noticeably down on the sun bathing weather of last weekend, it was no surprise that each Carp had to be worked for. However, for those prepared to work and be patient, there were bites to be had on most pegs and again close to 50lb was needed to make the Top 10.
