REVIEW

Steve Pearce Takes 214lb from Peg 34.

Match Winner Steve Pearce DC Lifestyle

Steve Pearce (DC Lifestyle) took full advantage of corner Peg 34 on the Sunday Rolfslake Match with a winning total 214lb. Fishing tight against the bank with a 6mm Pellet Steve found feeding fish early in the match and made short work of his double Ton bag.

Peg 34 is situated in the corner of the smaller part of the lake nearest the car park and draw hut. The peg has a rope stopping the anglers from plundering the carp from beneath the lilly pads that grow there, however, the fish patrol the nearside ledge. A popular alternative to fishing into the grass bank is attacking a line close to the 4th orange ball from the bank (The orange balls are on the rope - as used in swimming pools.) With the list of double Ton bags growing all the time for the Peg, undoubtedly the Peg remains one of the favorites to take a new UK/European/World Match Record. Put it this way, the only groan you will here when you draw Peg 34 is from the Anglers behind you!

Suffering from a poor run of pegs recently, Ton Up Baits angler Trevor Price rounded of a fine weekend with 166lb from Peg 8 and second place. Don't think Trevor will forget this weekend in a hurry, in two matches his total return was 569lb 12oz!!.

3rd Place went to Paul Williams on Peg 4. Paul had the frustration on watching feeding fish down the edge, however as soon as he put a pole over their heads the fish disappeared - only to reappear as he went back straight out. Paul did manage a 140lb 8oz all the same.
