| REVIEW | |||
| BERNIE FALLS SHY OF A TON With water temperature back to 59 Deg, once again the Carp have started to show signs of getting ready to spawn. As such, good bites were hard to come by for most anglers as one fish divided the runner up from 6th place. Out in front was Ton Up Baits angler Bernie Fraser with 99-08, falling just short of the 'Ton'. Drawn on Peg 14, Bernie fished 18 inches deep with soft pellet on the hook over sprayed pellet. Bernie finished some 20lb ahead of runner up Steve Liston (Swindon) who took 79-00 from off the deck at Peg 10. In third place was frame regular Gary Thorpe (Ton Up Baits.) Gary struggled on the deck for the first part of the match with not much success from Peg 25. A switch to up in the water produced a few fish as Gary finished very strongly, ending just 4oz's short of Steve in the runner-up spot with 78-12. John Lees, Dave Wightman and Dave Hawkins also finished just short of the runners up spot with 76-04, 76-00 and 74-00 respectively. Dave Hawkins smashed the Common Carp record with a fantastic fin perfect 26-08 specimen from Peg 16. Book Early for the Next Weekend - Once again Very Few Pegs remaining” |
