Peg 14 had all the recent form and Chris Davis (Prestwood & District) took great advantage of a good draw by returning a winning 87-08-0, well ahead of any challengers. N McCullen (Post Office) delivered 31-12-0 to the scales from peg 24 for second spot. Tony West, drawn on unlucky peg 13, (how does this peg hold the match record?)struggled to connect with any carp in the first 3 hours. In the remaining time he fished for 'Silvers' and built a reasonable weight from mostly roach on maggot. However, it was a record Golden Orfe of 4-00-0 that won him 'Bronze!' Not to be out-done, Gary Thorpe chipped in with a new record - a 3oz Bleak!! Maybe this is the first of a few lake records to go this year? (Sorry for the late publishing of this result - Normal service will resume this week-end)
