303lb
Pete Wedgebrow

176lb
Kevin Arathoon |
Peter
Wedgebrow
(Slapheads) set the standard for the Sunday Rolfslake match with
a magical 303lb from Peg 8. Fishing tight against the bank with
a 6mm Pellet Peter never look back following the draw. Finding
feeding fish early in the first hour he took fish very steadily
throughout the match.
Peg
8
is one of the most consistent summer pegs at Rolfslake. Situated
between the two main areas of the lake it is only 13-14m over (Depending
on what pole you have in your hand!) Ambushing the Carp as they
migrate between areas seems to give consistent sport and turns in
more than a fair share of match wins - However, taking nothing away
from Peter the 303lb is by far the biggest weight ever to come from
the Peg in an open match! and the first time the Peg has featured
in the Top 10. With such a weight, Pete arguably set his on
pedigree as one of the favorites to top a 430lb weight and take
a new UK Record.
Yet
again, Kevin Arathoon (Cokeheads) but in faultless match performance
in returning 176lb from peg 6. Kevin fished at 6m on the deck using
pellet baits over heavy pellet feed. Kevin was one of 9 Anglers to
top the Ton! A total of 20 Ton Plus weights for the weekend.
