Golden Peg

REVIEW

Talk at the draw was about Bernie Fraser's 213lb catch yesterday and would another big weight come from the lake today.  Overnight temperatures had dropped water temperature by 3 Deg F to 43F but Rolf remain confident that the Carp would still feed.

Once again red hot Peg 14 was the fancy of the draw.  T Fowkes (Nest Fisheries) took much delight in drawing it from the bag!  Having ran to his peg, he made no mistake in putting together an arm wrenching winning weight of 163-04-0 by fishing Corn over pellet & Corn on long pole.  Peg 14 has now won 7 of the last 10 Matches.  As previously mentioned on the web-site, the Peg has a few hidden under-water secrets. Anyone who draws the peg should find this with some careful plumbing at 14-15m - Its more than just a bar, a flat raised spot the size of a pool table. It's there somewhere! But that is all Rolf will tell me and I've never had the pleasure of drawing it anyway!!

T West (Hounslow) also made well of a decent draw (Peg 23) by alternating Corn and Pellet hook baits on Long Pole to wrestle 143-12-0 to the scales for second spot. Drawn next door on 24 was S Liston from Swindon Tribe who concentrated more on Sweetcorn hook baits for his third place catch of 132-08-0. Ton up bags also fell to Calvert A/C Angler N McCallum with 116-08-0 and S Roback (Maidenhead Baits) by the skin of his teeth with a level 100-00-0.

Prestwood & District's Chris Davis fell one fish short of the Ton with 96-00-0 to finish 6th in both of the weekends matches.
