| Carp Continue to Spawn With fish once again still in a spawning mood the weights remained within the average bracket!!! Rolf is keeping one eye on the Carp for signs of being 'Spawn-bound' as the spawning period has entered its 4th week. However, a good number of Carp have started to patrol the 16m line with a view to picking up the odd loose fed pellet. Tommy Hillier (Daiwa Dorking) found a few at peg 14 for an impressive 159-00 but fell just one fish short of match winner Tony Kent on Peg 8 (Golden Peg) who took Carp into double figures with his 163-12 return. On Peg 10, Gary Thorne (Sensas Image) fished tight against the bank for a net bulging 144-00 and thrid place. Tek Neek Trabucco angler Andy Johnstone took an impressive 123lb from peg 34 on a day when 78lb was needed to make the top ten with 7 Ton Plus weights. Chatting to Rolf prior to him giving me the weights, he commented that the lake had fish poorely and was disappointed that no big 200lb plus bags had featured. Click Hot Pegz to review the latest Peg leader board (Golden Pegs 7, 8, 13, 37) Golden Pegs will remain at 4 Book Early for the Next Weekend - Most Pegs already taken” |
