REVIEW |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Once again a weekend effected by poor weather conditions and low water temperatures. Following the cancelled Saturday match, the Sunday Open returned some reasonable weights considering the water temperature was just 38 Deg! and the wind had swung from SW to NW!! Dawn on Peg 24, M Davey (Hardwell Prince of Wales) ran out winner with 75-08-0 of Sweetcorn tempted Carp. Recently nearly all fish have been falling to this 'winter only' bait. Drawn next door to the winner was eventual runner-up P Barnes on Peg 23, his return of 71-08-0 fell just short of top spot. Again, with very cold water it was
the Car Park bank that produced the most bites. Last winters favorite Peg 14 was the only other peg to produce a weight.
The talk back at the hut was about the first fish caught. Apparently, while still in the landing net it pleaded with the captor not to be put back into the freezing lake!
