REVIEW

Bank Holiday Mondays were invented for fishing Rolfs Lake, or so it seemed at the draw.   A bright blue sky, light breeze and fish topping everywhere!!   Rolf proceeded with the draw for the Golden Pegs - 14,24,26,28!!!   Lake regulars had to pinch themselves to see if it wasn't a dream.

Trabucco backed Andy Johnstone found himself drawn on Peg 7 for the 2nd weekend running and soon found himself into a few fish.   Fishing as long as permitted (16m), he made the far bank/ropes his marker and took fish from here in a regular fashion. His main opposition sat on Peg 23 in the shape of lake expert Gary Thorpe (Ton Up Baits.) Gary fished on the deck to start but found the going a little slow and found each bite hard to come by. By the last hour enough was enough for Gary and he decided to spray pellet and fish 1m deep in an attempt to get a few extra fish. The gamble paid off as Gary tipped the scales to a winning 135-08. Andy Johnstone struggled an equally impressive 133-12 to the scales but found himself just one small Carp short of the top payout.

Yet again more than 60lb was needed to make the top 10. The guys that had traveled down from 'Up North' from Stevens Tackle also enjoyed a good bank holiday weekend with a hand full of framing weights and good backing hauls to boot.

Rolf added a lot of fish looked close to spawning condition and that the water temperature was back up the a year high of 59 Deg F.   Once the fish have spawned Rolf is hoping that someone will break the magic 400lb barrier as the water temperature and the fish settle in for a long summer.
